New Orleans Job Search

New Orleans is well known for its parades and festivals. If you are the type of person who likes to play all day, even at work, you might want to consider a job in one of New Orleans's parks.
Six Flags Theme Park in New Orleans offers a variety of job options year round. Unlike theme parks further north, Six Flags this far in the South is open every season. The park has several stores that sell everything from T-shirts to toys to glassware to Cajun crafts. They also offer a water stunt show and children's shows, for those who like to entertain. In addition, look to one of the eateries in the park, such as Papa Russo's Pizza for position in customer service. Over 50,000 seasonal and 3,000 full-time employees work at Six Flags theme parks around the world. The New Orleans park is currently looking for "high-energy singers, dancer, and actors for six new shows" for their upcoming season. Do you love jazz music? Jazzland is now part of Six Flags, is divided into six areas, and each celebrates a different aspect of Louisiana culture. The park is set on the shores of Jazz Lake and also offers a variety of rides

On the other hand, if you would like a more laid-back park to work at, check out opportunities at the Louisiana Nature Center. Hands-on exhibits and nature trails fill 86 acres of wildlife preserve. Many of the area plantation homes also have a need for southern belles and people willing to play tour guide while dressed up in period costumes. A few to try are Oak Alley, Nottoway, and Destrehan Plantation. If you love children, you might enjoy working at Storyland. The park is populated with creatures from fantastical children's tales. The playground was rated one of the 10 best in America by Child Magazine. Storyland is located in City Park and includes a carousel, Ferris wheel, bumper cars, and other rides at the Carousel Gardens. Kids can slide down the fiery slide out of the friendly dragon's mouth, play pirate on an authentic looking ship, attend the little red schoolhouse, or take some time to visit the old woman who lives in a shoe.
The Parks Department is in charge of Storyland. Jobs include people to conduct the rides, maintenance, and cleanup. "Staffed by local actors and actresses, delightful productions by Storyland Players are scheduled regularly at the Puppet Castle," according to their website. The park also offers private birthday parties and needs staff to host the birthdays. If you are a big kid at heart, you are probably already aware of the numerous fun things to do in New Orleans. These are just a few of the lighthearted jobs. Life is too short to be serious all the time, but there is nothing wrong with having fun all the time, even when you are working.
